The Way To MoMA: ceramic design by Janis Marti and Pablo Genoux

Janis Marti and Pablo Genoux take ceramics - one of the most traditional arts and crafts of all - into the age of digitalization.

With a great deal of experimentation, Marti and Genoux created an innovative ceramic printing technique: using a handjet, a mobile printer designed for use in industry, they create highly aesthetic objects of art.

The detailed vessels, which are manufactured in Switzerland, illustrate the contrast between digital mass printing and individually handcrafted pieces. The combination of handwork and digital technology, the unmistakable motifs in cobalt blue on white porcelain, stand for a ceramic craft of the 21st century.
