Natur in a Digital Era: Jamie Xue
In her works, the emerging artist Jamie Xue (b. 1995, China) deals with the question of our natural environment and how it is perceived and processed in a digital and technological era. She expresses her own understanding of these "natural" scenes in the form of colorful paintings.
In doing so, she uses electronic technologies as a tool to create these images and to let a second view of the perceived nature emerge, so to speak. This results in compositions that, through their saturated colors and distorted forms, depict a kind of nature that the artist links to her own perception of the surroundings.
